Introduction<\/h2>\n

Making\u00a0a\u00a0music video is a fantastic\u00a0way to express your\u00a0creativity. Plus,\u00a0it can be great\u00a0fun and really rewarding, especially if you love music.<\/p>\n

Depending on the sort of video you want to make, coming up with the concept and organising the production process can require a lot of\u00a0knowledge and experience.<\/p>\n

But you can also produce a music video with far less effort, for example by using a video collage<\/a> or stop-motion animation<\/a> as\u00a0your starting point.\u00a0That’s why you can do this sort of project\u00a0whether you’re a beginner or an\u00a0advanced film-maker.<\/p>\n

  • Make sure you have permission to use the music you’ve chosen for your video.<\/li>\n
  • Rehearse the choreography with musicians and dancers before you start filming.<\/li>\n
  • Remember to record\u00a0playback sound \u2013\u00a0either through\u00a0your camera’s built-in\u00a0microphone or by connecting directly to the playback device \u2013\u00a0so that you can easily\u00a0synchronise all the shots later.<\/li>\n
  • Check your footage\u00a0regularly during the shoot, and make sure body, finger and lip movements are synced with the playback sound.<\/li>\n
  • Think about the design of any props and the background, as well as lighting at the shooting locations.<\/li>\n
  • When recording a live performance, make sure you’re getting\u00a0good-quality sound for all\u00a0the voices and instruments through the mixing desk. Connect to it directly, either through your camera or an external recording device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Equipment and tools<\/h2>\n

To film a music video, you’ll need\u00a0at least one camera with an audio input or internal microphone, as well as all\u00a0the other\u00a0usual\u00a0filming equipment (tripods, lighting, and so on).<\/p>\n
